Bite (2004-2008)

[Check out what I got up to at Limelight and Cow too, as well as more recently as a freelancer]

Apple > The first project I worked on with Apple was the European launch of iTunes - an event with over 500 journalists and Steve Jobs himself in attendance. Over the next four years I was involved in pretty much all areas of the account including product launches, briefings, and review programmes, as well as managing an incredibly busy press office. To this day I still love Apple and cherish the time I spent working with the company and the privileged access I had to the people that make it the worlds most innovative company.

Carling > We worked with Carling to help amplify its sponsorship of the busking scheme on the London Underground. We handpicked some of the very best buskers and helped showcase their talent to the music industry, as well as helping to lobby the government on potential changes to busking laws, using the scheme as an example of the benefits of it.

Disney Interactive Studios > With Disney, we acted as their ideas generation agency - helping devise creative plans for the launch of computer games across Europe. Plans were locally implemented and we worked in partnership with an events agency to stage the European launch of Turok.

Facebook > In 2007 Facebook was growing rapidly in the UK and across Europe and the rest of the world. Winning the business was heralded as one of the most competitive pitches in the industry and I was obviously super chuffed to have been on the winning team as a senior digital specialist. Working with Facebook was crazy and involved helping to run an incredibly busy press office and the launch of Facebook Ads in the UK. I deeply regret missing out on my chance to meet Zuck though.

Getty Images > Working with one of the worlds most creative visually led company was awesome. I was mainly involved in strategic communications planning to help this innovative, creative company share its story and engage with the local and global creative community.

London Underground > We set up a media partnership with Capital FM and built a campaign site to ask people to share their hidden gems around London to promote the Tube Guru and Journey Planner tools created by TFL.

Samsung > I helped the Samsung Mobile team to use content partnerships more effectively to drive traffic and grow its online community even further.

Symantec > The guys at Symantec wanted to launch a blog and we worked with them to get everything set-up and put an editorial calendar in place to ensure that it was launched successfully and helped attract a community right from the start. View from the Bunker (my first ever commercial WP installation and theme customisation) is still going strong and has even picked up an award or too along the way.

Tiger Beer > Looking at my experience, beer and technology seem to be my specialist areas and Tiger Beer was one close to my heart. We helped Tiger to be cool, implementing an ongoing seeding, sampling and sponsorship campaign to ensure it was seen in all the right places in the hands of all the right people. We also set-up the brand in social media and sowed the seeds of the community that exists today.

Toshiba > My main role was ideas generation and the development of an umbrella creative concept to help re-establish Toshiba’s position as a technology company driven by innovation.

Yahoo! > One of the main campaigns we launched to help maintain awareness of Yahoo! Search in an increasingly competitive search engine market was the annual Finds of the Year contest (which showcased the very best websites of the year across a selection of categories). It’s one of the most successful campaigns I’ve led, with heaps of coverage appearing globally and my mum and dad even sending me cuttings.
